Leaves are changing, a chill is in the air – time for a Fall book!

I love Fall … and books! The leaves are changing colors and the weather is getting cooler. What could be better than stories set during the fabulous months of Autumn? In my humble opinion – nothing 🙂 . Well, perhaps except for something with a Halloween flare! Here are a just few books that I have read, actually listened too, over the last few months that I thought you might enjoy.
The Ghost and Mrs. Mewer is the second book in the “Paws and Claws Mystery Series”. Holly Miller and her side kick, Trixie (a sweet Jack Russell), investigate a murder that takes place in her hometown of Wagtail during the town’s Halloween festival. Holly, Trixie, the employees and guests of the Sugar Maple Inn take you on a fun adventure. The Ghost and Mrs. Mewer reminds me of watching a fun Fall Hallmark movie on television. It is a light story that is enjoyable.
By Familiar Means takes us on a journey with Annabelle Britton and her cat named Alistair. Annabelle has newly discovered that she is a witch from an old family of witches in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. As she is trying to learn about her new abilities and the grandmother who kept them a secret, Annabelle also finds herself involved in a local murder. This is the second book from the “Witches Cat Mystery”. I enjoyed both of the books I have read so far from this author. Again, they are nothing heavy and dark but enjoyable reads that keep you wanting more.
I loved this book! Wish Me Home doesn’t have Fall or Halloween in it but it is about a women and her new friend Hemingway. This story just pulled at my heart strings as it took you along the road with Cara Butter and her dog Hemingway. This story deals with loss, love, friendship, family, depression, abandonment and self discovery. With all of that, it is not sad or dark but warm and thoughtful. I really enjoyed this story.
If you have read any of these books or have others that you might like to recommend , I would love to hear from you. I am always looking for new authors so please leave me a comment below.
