Hi everyone and Happy 4th of July!
In honor of our country’s birthday, today seemed to be a perfect day to share this super easy recipe for frozen DIY dog treats. Fresh strawberries and blueberries add great color and are spot on for your holiday celebration. These dog treats are cool, refreshing and healthy for your best canine friend. Like any kid with a popsicle, your dog will probably make a mess. My back porch was a great place to serve these tasty treats and made for easy cleanup. Once completed, you can sit back and enjoy your dog licking and enjoying this tasty treat!
- Fresh Strawberries and Blueberries
- Silicone ice cube trays – I used a cute paw print
Blend strawberries until they are a smooth consistency. Then pour mixture into your ice cube tray. Put ice cube tray into freezer until hard (about 4 hours)
Carefully remove the strawberry cubes from the tray and let your dog enjoy the cool sweet treat!
Repeat steps one and two with the blueberries. Feeling creative? Try layering the fruit. Pour a shallow layer of the strawberries in the tray and freeze. When solid fill the rest of the tray up with the blueberries and refreeze.
This is a super easy DIY dog treat recipe that my three fur babies plus my two grand pups love! It is a great way to keep them cool during a hot fun filled 4th of July.
Have a great Independence Day! Remember to keep your dogs a cats safe and secure during all of the fireworks tonight.
